SkighHy Inc.

Sparking the tough conversations that promote change.

Hi! My name is Skyler, and I’m one of the most passionate people that you’ll ever meet. I’m passionate about the power that each individual possesses, more specifically, the power of their words. I come from a difficult childhood where I was the victim of childhood sexual abuse.  My experience has lead me to live most of my adult life trapped in fear. I am hot-headed, insecure, and entirely convinced I am not good enough. It wasn’t until something came into my life and ripped the wound wide open that I would even begin to face reality. I am a Survivor! And now, I am trying to change my trajectory and inspire others to do the same.

It was someone’s words that inspired the courage in myself to be able change. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once said “No Man is my friend, no Man is my enemy. But every Man is my teacher.”

I am a Survivor and I believe that I now have a duty to pass what I have learned and even heard, on. I strongly believe in the power of “we”. I can be stopped from my mission by fear. But WE can’t be stopped. Not by anything.

Here at SkighHy Inc. we are a community of not the smart kids, or physically gifted, but the willing. It is said  that 2% of the people do 98% of the work. Those that work here are willing to give not only they’re time, but more importantly, they dare to give their voices. They/we are the 2%. You’ll find the good, the bad, and the ugly here. All with the single common mission: change the narrative one community at a time.

Keturah Adams

Childhood Sexual Abuse Support Group Co-Facilitator

Hello, everyone! My name is Keturah Adams and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. A few years ago, my own therapist told me about this amazing support group for childhood sexual abuse survivors. Unfortunately, my anxiety got the best of me and I did not attend.

Fast forward a year, or so, and I reached out to Skyler to ask about helping with group to obtain group therapy hours for my masters program. I instantly knew that I was in the right area, as Skyler welcomed me in. I have enjoyed meeting each and every group member and being a part of their healing journey. It can be intimidating and scary to try something new, as I experienced this myself! I look back now and wish that I would have attended a group meeting, but I’m happy to be a part of this amazing community now.

We hope to do whatever we can to welcome you in, and to help you to feel safe and supported. You are worth it, and we can’t wait to meet you!
