Child Sexual Abuse Support Group

We meet every Tuesday from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

WE HAVE A NEW LOCATION: 1800 Claflin Rd, Suite 200. Manhattan, KS. 66502

*If it is your first time in group expect to stay until 7:15

The child sexual abuse support group is free and open to anyone who has experienced childhood sexual abuse. Every week we get together to overcome what has happened to us. We look at the ins and outs of what makes us human given the circumstances of our situation. We ask ourselves questions like; what are our core values, what about ourselves is fighting to be heard, and what is safety?

We share our experiences of what has happened to us to break the silence that perpetuates a story like our own. If sharing your experience isn’t something you want to do, that’s cool too. It can be incredibly powerful just to sit in a space with other people who have a story similar to your own.

The support group is facilitated by myself, Skyler, and Keturah. Keturah has recently completed her Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and is a Licensed Professional Counselor, practicing at Andrews & Associates Counseling here in Manhattan, KS.

Keturah is passionate about the field of trauma and helping those who have experienced traumatic events in their lifetime. Being a survivor herself, she was led to this group. However, just like most of us, her anxiety initially held her back. She knows firsthand the challenges of taking that leap to attend a group meeting. She also knows what it is like to take a leap into an environment of support, non-judgment, and growth with fellow survivors because she is here every Tuesday helping to create it.

Males and females can be abused and we invite anyone, regardless of background, race, gender, or sexual orientation to join us. It may not feel easy, but you are strong. We can’t wait to meet you!

Please read and follow the support guidelines:

No Judgement.

Be aware that everyone is at a different stage in their healing journey. Please do not judge someone else for how they may be handling their situation. All of us are different and no two stories, regardless of their similarities, are the same.

Hold Space.

There is no obligation to share your story or why you are here. This group has been created just to simply share space with others who have had to endure a similar experience. Sometimes that support is conversation, other times that support is just knowing that you are not alone.

Do not repeat what is not yours to share.

This group is open to everyone who has been a victim, loved a victim, or wishes to become an Allie. If you wish to be a part of this group please remember to keep all things within the group confidential. Please check out the SkighHy core values on the About section of this website, and know that those values are expected to be upheld during meetings as well.
